The holidays are over, the New Year has started and many of us have Resolutions that we are planning on following whether it’s to simply to have a better day or help create a better community that we live in. Point Pinos Grill staff has made some resolutions of our own.

First, we want all of our customers, whether you come in a few days a week or once a year, to know how much you are appreciated. We have been working hard in the past year to become a place you can enjoy and plan to continue to grow and evolve in the upcoming 2013 year. You need to know that comments and feedback are always welcome, because that is the only way we can truly know what you are interested in for holidays, special events and simply the daily menu items. We have recently made seasonal changes to our menus, revamped dinner items, currently working on bringing back some old favorites and have edited both our wine and beer lists, adding more of a selection, and we can not wait to hear your thoughts. When you come down to try them please fill out the comment card at the end of your experience or comment on Facebook, Yelp or Trip Advisor and let us know your thoughts about the changes.

Point Pinos Grill has been hosting different beer and wine pairing dinners since we were approved to have a trial period for dinner. When we were approved for full time dinner service, we added a few more dinners. Now it is permanent, we will be able to remain open for dinner service and with it is the introduction of a full dinner pairing series! Our second resolution is to introduce you and the Monterey area to amazing wines, new breweries and interesting sakes. To do so we have two dinners planned each month for you to enjoy.

Our next beer pairing dinner is with Uncommon Breweries out of Santa Cruz on January 18th at 6:30pm. This event is an uncommon one even for us, because the Head Brew Master, Alec, will be present. It starts with a meet and greet with him at 6:30pm with tasting different Uncommon Brews and appetizers. That is followed by a wonderful four course dinner created by Chef Tom Stutzman paired with Uncommon’s Golden State Ale, Siamese Twin Ale, Bacon Brown Ale and their Baltic Porter, the dinner is accompanied by food and beer explanations and stories. To see the full menu, please sign onto our website To purchase tickets call Point Pinos Grill at (831) 648-5774.

The following dinner is with TyKu’s Sakes and Soju on January 31st. Just because we do have a full liquor license, doesn’t mean we aren’t able to make some amazing drinks for you to try. This is a similar format with a meet and greet at 6:30 to taste some soju cocktails followed by a four course sake paired dinner. There are plenty more wine and beer dinners planned for your enjoyment, follow us on the website or on Facebook for the most updated information.

We look forward to seeing you all at Point Pinos Grill and helping us follow through with our New Year’s Resolutions.
