Ah, the season of Thanksgiving, my favorite of all holidays! A time full of delicious foods that have stood the test of time and recipes, which span generations.

I am thankful for many things this year, mostly for the great people who invite us to cater to them and their guests in all of our various outlets. As well, I am thankful for the great members of the Aqua Terra team who enable us to do so. It was only a couple short years ago that it was just EJ, Allison, Diane and me together making Thanksgiving dinner for our first few @home customers. Today the secret seems to be out and those “in the know” have made the more tedious aspects of putting Thanksgiving dinner on the table a thing of the past. We are happy to provide Thanksgiving dinner with all of the trimmings to so many of our @home families.

I am also thankful for the culinary peers in my life who enable me to expand and grow both personally and professionally. Which is why I am so excited about the Pinot Noir dinner this week at Point Pinos Grill. I have known Jeff Anderson (Executive Chef for Safeway Corporation) for about 4 years now and I have to say that I have never had a fellow culinarian push me creatively as much as he has. We enjoy working together and pushing each other to new limits. EJ Jimenez and I have been cooking together now for the past 10+ years, which explains why he is the heart of our Culinary production at AQUA TERRA. Tom Stutzman (Executive Chef at Point Pinos Grill) has just completed his first year with us and his tireless efforts has brought solidity to the team and a consistency to the food that has helped make us a local favorite. I am excited to be cooking with them this Friday. Please call 648-5774 to join us for this fun and delicious event!

I am thankful that the AQUA TERRA Invitational is celebrating its 7th year this Monday at Poppy Hills. I know we will outdo ourselves and beat last year’s donations to the Food Bank of Monterey County. Not part of the golf tournament, but would like to give food to the food bank? We have barrels at Point Pinos Grill! Throughout the holiday season, I urge you to donate generously wherever you see a barrel. We will be posting this year’s donation totals on Facebook on Tuesday, so stay tuned!

Most of all I am thankful for my family (Cris and the cat crew), friends, and for being fortunate enough to have made my home on the Monterey Peninsula with it’s wonderful bounty and the great people I see every day.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
