March Featured Menu Items: Asparagus and Strawberries

Asparagus season is in full swing, and we are taking advantage of that on our school lunch menu for March. Look for marinated asparagus, asparagus salad, and steamed asparagus. Marinated asparagus is one of my favorites- simply blanch it and then marinate it in lemon juice, olive oil, and parsley.

We are also featuring strawberries this month. Strawberries are a great way to welcome Spring, and they will be available through Summer. It’s a pretty long season, but that’s okay- students love seeing strawberries on their lunch trays!
